Canadian Hosting. Built by the People Who Wished It Existed.
WPCloud was founded in 2013 by a team that had been building for the web since 1998. Nearly three decades later, the mission has not changed: fully managed WordPress hosting on 100% Canadian infrastructure.
OUR STORY
Nearly Three Decades of Building for the Web.
It started with e-commerce. Before WordPress existed, before “managed hosting” was a category, a small team in Ontario was building online stores and web applications. The internet was still proving itself as a business platform. That team built anyway.
Some of those original team members are still here today.
WordPress launched, and the team saw its potential immediately. Within months, they were building WordPress sites for clients. Over the next decade, WordPress development became the core of the practice. Hundreds of sites. Every quirk of the platform learned, every hosting frustration endured.
The team stopped looking for the right hosting provider and built one. WPCloud launched with a singular focus: fully managed WordPress hosting on Canadian infrastructure, built by people who actually understand WordPress.
That focus has not changed.
Nearly three decades of building for the web. A team of approximately 24 people spread across time zones. Three Canadian data centres. Thousands of WordPress installations. Profitable, growing, and still run by the same founding team.
No venture capital. No pivots. No exit strategy. Just a Canadian company doing one thing well.
OUR COMMITMENT
Keeping Data in Canada Is Not a Feature. It Is a Principle.
When WPCloud was founded, the team made a decision that has guided every infrastructure investment since: all data stays in Canada. Not most of it. Not the primary copy. All of it.
This was not the easiest path. Canadian data centre options were more limited in 2013. Costs were higher. The big American hosting companies could undercut on price.
But the team believed that Canadian businesses, particularly those in healthcare, legal, education, and government, deserved a hosting provider that respected the same privacy obligations they operated under. That conviction has not wavered.

WPCloud was built on three principles: be confident in what we do, be selective about who we do it for, and be transparent about how we do it. Everything else follows from there.
OUR PEOPLE
A Distributed Team. A Shared Mission.
WPCloud is a Canadian company with a team of approximately 24 people working from across Canada and around the world. This is not a compromise. It is how we deliver 24/7 support coverage and attract the best people regardless of geography. When a client submits a ticket at 2 a.m., they get a person who is in the middle of their working day.
The team includes people who have been here since the founding in 2013, and several who go back to the original group from 1998. That kind of tenure is rare in tech, and it shows in the depth of knowledge and quality of support.
